Age Concern Chesterfield and District are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

Age Concern Chesterfield and District is a charity based in the heart of Chesterfield Derbyshire. We work with people over the age of 50 years of age, their families and carers. 

 

Age Concern Chesterfield and District collects information from you in the following ways:-

 

Information you give us could be because :-

  • You wish to access one of our projects

  • Become a volunteer

  • Apply for a job

  • Give a donation to the charity

  • Tell us a story

  • Have an enquiry

  • Provide feedback

  • Make a complaint

  • Participate in a survey about one of our projects

 

You may also give us information indirectly through:-

  • Making a referral to one of our projects

  • When you interact with the charity through social media

 

When you visit our website we collect information:-

  • Technical information which includes, device, IP address, browser, and operation system.

  • The pages you viewed and the length of time you were looking at the pages.

 

Social Media

When you use our social media such as Facebook we may obtain information about you. For instance when you publicly tag us in an event photograph.

 

What type of information do we collect from you when you contact us by telephone, mail, email, or in person? :-

  • Your name, address, telephone number,and email address

  • Date of birth

  • Health information

  • Bank or credit card information if you are making a donation by phone or face to face

  • That you are a UK taxpayer in order for the charity to claim gift aid.

  • Any other information you have shared with the charity

 

Sensitive Information 

Information about your health is considered to be Sensitive Information. We would not usually ask for this information unless it is needed, for instance because you are interacting with one of our projects.  This would also apply to paid staff and volunteers.

 

How long do we keep information for?

We will not keep your personal or sensitive information longer than is necessary.  Sometimes we will have to keep hold of information for statutory or regulatory reasons, such as tax/accounting or health and safety purposes.

 

We will not share your information and we will not:- 

  • Sell your information

  • Share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes

  • Share your information with third parties without your consent.

  • If we need to carry out surveys to provide information to our funders we will ask for consent to do this.

 

Your rights under Data Protection law:-

  • You can access the information we hold

  • You can ask for a copy of the information we hold

  • You can ask for information to be corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete

  • You have the right to restrict the use of the information we hold

  • You have the right to ask for the information to be removed

  • You have the right to object to the way we use your information

  • You have the right to withdraw your consent to Age Concern Chesterfield and District using or holding your information.

GDPR Requests

If you would like to make a GDPR data request then please contact the Chief Officer at Age Concern Chesterfield and District on co@ageconcernchesterfield.co.uk  and your request will be dealt with, within 30 days of receipt of the email. If you have any questions about the data we hold about you or data deletion requests please contact the Chief Officer on  co@ageconcernchesterfield.co.uk 

 

Security

All information is only accessed by our organisation and although data may be held by third parties all of those parties are GDPR compliant and operate within the confines of that regulation where applicable.  

 

All data held whether onsite or offsite or when being transported is fully encrypted with AES encryption and that data is never held by anyone outside our organisational structure. 

 

We also take any reasonable steps to ensure that equipment and/or data is kept secure whatever medium it is kept in. We will hold all information provided to us securely.  We use G-suite Drive for all of our work. Our files are backed up to the Cloud. 

 

All donations that are processed through our website are dealt with through Stripe and no one at Age Concern Chesterfield and District has access to your credit card or.bank details.

Like all websites, we use cookies to gather information about your use of the website. If you would prefer that we did not do this then please set your browser preference to switch off cookies.

We reserve the right to make any changes to this policy without prior notification.
