HOW YOU CAN HELP
Sponsor a monthly get together for £500
Many of our users are housebound but some aren't. What we would love to be able to do is have a once a month get together. People can make new friends and see old ones. Chat over tea and coffee. Become more active mentally. Enjoy a game of bingo and a singalong.
The things that we take for granted when we are younger often fall away when a person's spouse passes, family move away and old friends pass away.
We can't stop life from moving on but we can still help others feel part of a community and feel loved.
Our meetings will last 3 hours in the morning or afternoon. We will have them in Chesterfield, Bolsover and North East Derbyshire.
Your support will pay for a minibus and carer for 15 people. The food and beverages, the entertainment and their ride home.
If you are a business, any charitable contributions are fully tax deductable.
WE ALSO NEED THESE
To allow us to help more users we recruit more volunteers. Each volunteer is equipped with a Chromebook and handset. If your budget will stretch and you can help us out with these it would be very much appreciated. The handsets costs £100 and the Chromebooks £300
OUR BIG GOAL THIS YEAR IS TO RAISE £50,000
For £300 a year, or £25 a month, your donation prevents an older person from being lonely & isolated
For £25 a month, an older person who is otherwise lonely and isolated, and living in Chesterfield, Bolsover or NE Derbyshire, can receive a 25 minute telephone call, every week, from one of our trained volunteers, removing them from loneliness and isolation.
Our Telephone Befriending Service calls are is a fundamental need for all, but for some the calls are a lifeline!
